कही सुनी पे बोहत एतबार करने लगे
मेरे ही लोग मुझे संगसार* करने लगे

पुराने लोगों के दिल भी हैं खुशबुओं की तरह
ज़रा किसी से मिले, एतबार करने लगे

नए ज़माने से आँखें नहीं मिला पाये
तो लोग गुज़रे ज़माने से प्यार करने लगे

कोई इशारा, दिलासा न कोई वादा मगर
जब आई शाम तेरा इंतज़ार करने लगे

हमारी सादामिजाजी कि दाद दे कि तुझे
बगैर परखे तेरा एतबार करने लगे
